The team from Preschool Market is honoured to be one of the friends of the inaugural Superhero Me festival, put together by Logue and In Merry Motion and backed by LIEN Foundation.
Superhero Me is a volunteer-run, values based craft movement to inspire children to develop a stronger sense of self through costume crafting. It aims to create awareness for early childhood education in Singapore and trigger children to discover the joy of creative confidence.
Over the course of the festival, we volunteered for several workshops, engaging children through craft and game stations and even got to build a bear head with other volunteers!
One of the highlights of the event was getting to interact with children from Pathlight School. The children came dressed in their carefully crafted superhero costumes, enthusiastic and excited to share with us their superpowers. The children were amazingly creative about their superpowers and dreams, ranging from being Helping Hands in order to lend a helping hand to the needy, to Rainbow Shooters that will shoot joy and colours into the lives of others.
It was an amazing and enriching experience to see the dreams of the little ones. One of the greatest takeaways from this festival is that children are never too young to dream big. Dreams are like seeds, and if we only take time to nurture those seeds, these dreams will take flight. Indeed, what we think we become.
